If you do have an injury, ice is very good at reducing swelling. Ice will constrict the blood vessels and after icying, the vessels will expand again, helping circulation return. You can use a bag of frozen peas or if you have a localized injury, try freezing water in a paper cup and then once frozen, tear the bottom off and roll the ice around the injury, you have to do this for about 15 min to be effective.
